3 Star Performa 16yrs Performance Concert Violin [P3]
| These violins are made in 2005, but right after that time my maker changed his varnish to a different style. This style of varnish is different from his catalogue, hence he had not shipped them out since because his new orders is all according to the new models. And so he kept the violins hanging in his tonewood drying shelter and time passes…. in one snap it became 4 years. When I was with him at the workshop I asked him what he wants to do with it. He ask me to buy but I have to buy all of them. So in haste I bought them all. After I bought them and paid, me and my teacher set it up properly and we were quite impressed with the tone quality. Hanging air blown for 4 years had done something good to the violins.
So this lot of violins becomes The Performa 16, a special lot of violins at the Ovistrings Performa workshop. These violins are made with 12 year old tonewoods in 2005 and after it is being made, it is airdried for 4 years before it is being brought to the market for purchase. So now it is about 16 years old (and so the name Performa 16). These extra dry violins are limited in quantity and represents a unique experience as a new violin, yet not so new. For those who had been buying my violins for some time now, you might have seen these violins last year. I sold about 15 of these last year. This violin has excellent good feedback on the tonal qualities. It is so good that I am considering making them now to be sold in the year 2012. So for now the remaining 18 pieces, buy them before they are all gone. Really |
