How to buy?
When you come to this page, you probably already have some questions to ask me or have some violins in mind. If you don’t, you can get a general idea of the violins I make by taking a look at this page. I explained the different quality range of violins and their prices. http://www.old-violin-house.com/catalog
Make the first contact
The simplest way is to drop me an email at info@old-violin-house.com to tell me the model you are interested in, or if you are not sure, give me the link of the page that interest you most. Then we’ll chat and I’ll guide you step by step.
Payments
The easiest way is to use paypal. Or you can make a bank wire transfer to my banks in USA, China or Singapore.
Shipping
Air Shipping
Normally one carton fits 6 or 10 violins. This way, the weight is over 20kg and qualifies for extra discount at the post office, which I can pass them on to you. The final weight depends on the cases you use as all violins weigh around the same weight. For plywood shell cases, the maximum per large carton is 6 violins. But you can use my hard foam cases which is pretty good quality as well.
Sea Shipping
Normally worth it only when you are shipping about 24 violins and above. Takes 21 days to USA and 30 days to most European countries. It’s not as complicated as everyone thinks. Just look up a company who will do customs clearance for you (using your local business directory) and give me their contact details. After that, I will take care of everything for you to ship to your desired address.
If you leave a comment or question below, I will reply you to your email.
And from there, I’ll guide you step by step towards your purchase.

HI
I am interested to buy some 20 violins when each is??
Hello, I’ve been trying to bid on your eBay site, but I don’t have the time to continue to do so. I am a Senior Beginner that is advancing very rapidly and am already playing in some gigs after only a few months of playing. Due to my age, I won’t have time to keep upgrading, so I would like to find my “forever” violin. I had an uncle that played at Carnegie Hall but he has passed away so he can’t help me. Unfortunately, I don’t know what I don’t know, so this is hard. What I want is a meticulous hand-made 4/4 violin that sounds amazing! I love listening to the gorgeous music of Andre Rieu. That’s the sound that I want. Of course I don’t have that kind of money for a Strad. I would like old European Wood, the finest, a one piece back, I tend to like the red color, but the sound is most important. A warm, sweet glorious sound, equal on all strings. A violin that is easy to play at once. I’m probably looking at a Pro model, aren’t I? I am presently bidding on your Copy of a 19th Century Italian Violin Geige #7806 PRO+ but I must leave and I won’t be on the computer when it goes to it’s last hour unfortunately. I can’t seem to find your prices, so I don’t know what to say. I live in Ireland so the VAT will be expensive; almost as much as the violin itself! I’m willing to pay the money if I can’t find TRUE QUALITY and SOUND. I know that being a beginner makes it quite difficult, but having been a professional Roller Skater, I do know that you must have a top quality instrument to become all that you can be. So I leave it with you Customs and VAT works in Ireland? Thank you so very much. Nancy Brady
My address is Ireland is: Clonmaine, Ladysbridge, County Cork, Ireland. There is NO postal code.

Hi there,
I’m interested in buying 2 full size violins for students of mine. I would like the instruments to be good enough to get them to music college entrance level at least. I am also interested in potentially buying a top quality modern Chinese viola for myself (I am a professional player.) I would be grateful if you could quote me some prices including bows and cases and shipping to the UK.
Many Thanks,
Helen Goatly.
Hello- I’m looking for a good quality cello at a reasonable price. Actually, I would be interested in a decorative one if available – and/or a redish color. Thanks
Hi Jephin, Please send me a picture of the carbon fiber cello case that you offer. And what are the finish options for the exterior too? Tonight I started learning how to play the violin that came today. I left a comment on your web page too. Being a cabinetmaker as a serious hobby I was extremely impressed by the outstanding craftmanship that went into the violin. I truely look forward to purchasing more from you for years to come. Phil
It would be nice if there would be a standard rectangular case for all the violins even if we don’t upgrade. It would encourage me more to bid. Also the double case should be one of the options for the upgrade. I would also like to see more affordable cellos for bidding with boxwood fittings if possible.
I still prefer seeing the vecchios with boxwood fittings rather than the ebony. I hope to see more violins with boxwood fittings.
I would like to see ebony on all of the Vecchio model violins, instead of the boxwood chin rest, etc. Also, have you considered putting fine tuning adjusters for all 4 strings? I realize it’s not part of the Guarneri tradition, but some of us really appreciate having the extra tuners.
