TJ at 3 weeks

Like his mummy, TJ has a really round face, especially at certain angles, like the above pic which is almost a perfect circle. The past few weeks has been gratifying and although it was many sleepless nights, it recharged me.

The past 2 weeks has not been total rest though. I was in and out of the workshop, developing some new products. They will surface soon. I’m also planning to launch a charity programme with iCare, a UK organisation who is in China building orphanages and schools. I am looking at sponsored painted violins and then auctioning them off with proceeds going to sponsor children to school. I plan to visit early next year to conduct the violin painting competition.

Well Christmas is approaching fast. And soon a new year will be here, and TJ’s smile tells me it will be even better.

I’ve just returned from a music fair. During the last 4 days has been very exhausting for me. The first thing after my return was to prepare for all my outstanding shipping that I had to make during the last 4 days and now that most of them are done, I can start to reply all my mails. I get about 60-80 emails a day and after the 4 days you can imagine my workload. Well, I’ve made many replies this morning and afternoon. Here’s a recent screenshot of my computer screen. I hope to complete them hopefully by 2am today, latest tomorrow. For me, no emails get unanswered.

TJ and Jehpin

Today arrived all the goods I ordered, some were early and some were late. As a result, my store and studio were overflown and I had to leave them in the living area. Not exactly an ideal environment to bring up a child. After I unpack them, I will quality inspect them, set them up and take some photos.

STUNNING ABALONE SHELL FROG Pernambuco CELLO bow#431(437)

Delivered to a friend in Thailand.

His comments:

This bow exceeds my expectation in either beauty or playability. The abalone shell frog is neatly crafted. Beside the balance and stiffness playing feel, the bow can draw beautiful tone on all registers of the cello.

Jehpin responsed well to my need and found the right bow for me. EMS shipment from Shanghai was fast. In conclusion, I am very happy with this bow purchase and will gladly recommend his shop to the internet buyers.

Guarneri Violin using 50 year old spruce “The Vecchio”

Here is a masterpiece classic, available only in limited quantity. A very fine top quality violin. You can tell that the craftmanship is excellent in all ways. This is a very careful reproduction on the original piece. It is 100% varnished by hand. This is a fine grade violin suitable for collectors, and I am sure it will surely appreciate in sound and value with time.

Replacing our classic antique violins, this Guarneri style violin is a no nonsense oil-varnished violin suitable for most professionals. Antiquated slightly for that fine touch, it is a violin with a lot of charisma. In old China, many houses are torned down to make way for new construction and the spruce that is used on these torned down houses can be used for making violins. We’re lucky to acquire some of these very special aged wood, each of at least 50 years old, to be used to make one of our best models.

Below are some of the pieces I’ve sold.
