4 Star Vecchio Workshop An Interpretation of the Red Mendelssohn Violin ca.1721 (Strad) [405]

One of the best varnished violin in my shop, this violin has a dark red finish to complement the dark rich tone. The good quality steel strings makes this a good choice especially if you are a folk music player. The antiquating technique employed here is light, just adding a fine touch. A one piece medium flamed maple is used here, so as not to be too overpowering in terms of looks. More like a gentle instrument, only to surprise the player when it is played. The nice boxwood fittings matches the red varnish. Fully oil varnished, and made by a single luthier from start to finish.
